Even though the tail is long (2 x body length) it is relatively shorter than Ranee Mouse Haeromys margarettae (3 x body length).
Also distinguished from Ranee Mouse by the fact that Sunda Tree Mouse has a tuft of stiff hairs at the end of the tail whereas Ranee Mouse has no hairs at the end of the longer tail.
