In his study of the resident colugos at Teluk Assam the Park HQ area at Bako Dzulhelmi Nasir (2012) found that the most preferred leaves were Buchanania arborescens in the mango family Anarcardiaceae. 50.46 of foraging time was spent eating the leaves of B. arborescens which was the most common tree in the area. The second most popular food were the leaves of Ficus microcarpa which occupied 15.17% of the feeding time, even though Ficus microcarpa was much less common.
